Our 2024 Sustainability Report

Our 2024 Journey Toward a Space Circular Economy
Space isn’t distant — it’s our future. With this vision, Involve Space closes out 2024 by presenting its first-ever Sustainability Report as a Benefit Corporation.
A circular model for space exploration
Our mission is simple: to turn every stratospheric mission into a regenerative opportunity for Earth. With Stratostats®, our hydrogen/helium-powered stratospheric balloon, we’ve proven it’s possible to:
- Reuse up to 95% of all components
- Operate with zero direct emissions
- Recover and reintegrate materials into a next-life cycle, not “end-of-life”
Becoming a Benefit Corporation: a formal commitment
Since 2023, Involve Space is officially a Benefit Corporation, integrating social and environmental goals directly into our company bylaws. Our CEO Jonathan Polotto also serves as Impact Officer, ensuring sustainability is embedded in every strategic decision.
Our values: tech with a conscience
Behind every action is a strong foundation of shared values:
- Sustainable innovation
- Internal transparency
- Team well-being and high talent density
- Constructive feedback culture
- Unlimited paid leave and flexible work
- Team building and continuous learning
Human capital and social impact
People are our greatest asset. Involve fosters diversity, gender equity, and empowerment through key leadership roles held by people like Beatrice Ribis and Shrrirup Nambiar. We're an international team, committed to building a future shaped by inclusion and talent.
Projects that make a difference
Among our most impactful initiatives:
- Da Vinci Caelum®: an edu-tech program that brings hands-on space missions to schools and universities.
- Humanitarian missions: using stratospheric platforms for emergency response and disaster monitoring.
- Circular partnerships: teaming up with sustainable fashion brands to repurpose aerospace waste into apparel and accessories.
Looking ahead: 2025 goals
As we pursue B Corp certification, our 2025 sustainability objectives include:
- Staying under 0.5 t CO₂e (Scope 2)
- Ensuring 30% female representation in STEM roles
- Launching 10 humanitarian missions
- Building balloons with at least 20% recycled material
A future that regenerates, not depletes
We believe in a different kind of Space Economy — one that creates real solutions for our planet and the people who live on it. Every mission is a promise: to leave a positive legacy, not a footprint.
